Entering a New Subsidence Report
Land subsidence reports can be submitted online at this web site, or alternately, using conventional paper forms.

Paper forms in PDF format

The web-based forms for submitting a land subsidence case to the database are patterned after the IAHS & UNESCO 4-page questionnaire designed to collect information on the occurrence, location, causes and other ancillary data related to land subsidence cases. Submitting a case to the database through the web-based interface requires first having created a membership account and then filling out 7 short on-screen forms, each dealing with a specific aspect of the case. These include:
  • Location of incident
  • Probable causes
  • Subsidence details
  • Description of subsidence area
  • Observation and measurement
  • Effects of subsidence
  • Bibliography

The Process
All submissions to the database are reviewed and approved before they are made available to the public. You may be contacted to clarify an entry or provide additional information.

When you create a membership, any cases or update requests you make will be recorded in your membership control panel. If you have entered a valid email address when creating your membership it will allow you to receive updates regarding the status of your requests. It is important that you keep up with your pending requests so that they do not time out and get removed. A new request gets submitted for review and then may be posted back to your account for revisions or questions.

Where to Start a new Record
If you have created an account and logged in, go to the members user console and click the "new case" button.

Access An Existing Subsidence Report
To modify any existing completed report, a member--once logged in--can click on a link "request update" that appears above the record.
